An Interesting Observation…

So I have been wearing my pistol out and about, nothing too crazy just to go to the store or over to the nieghbor’s house, nowhere unreasonable.  Alot of my friends, my roomates included, accepted my carrying very well, infact they were stoked about.  I wore it to my buddy’s house last night and he thought it was sweet.  After I had been there for a while my roomate and I decided to leave, as I was putting on my shoes, this liberal friend spied my piece (my gun that is) and said, “Mountian Man, why do you have a gun?”  To this I replied, “I actually have many guns.”  The rest of the encounter went like this:

“Yeah but why are you carring one now?  Are you afriad of getting mugged in Spearfish?”

“No, I have it to shoot stuff, what else do you do with a gun?”

“OMG, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard, can’t you find a more pragmatic reason then that?”

At this point in the conversation I have a couple of choices to make.  1. Do I point out that there niether a more pragmatic nor any other use for a gun besides shooting something.  2. Do I end the conversation or continue it.  This is what I decided to to do:

“OK, here’s a better reason, to protect my self from the government you so devoutly worship.”

“Oh yeah I worship the government, you are so close minded, all of you gun nuts and republican.”

“I’m closed minded?  I’m not the one telling people they are bad because they don’t adhier to my preference, AND I’m not the one who just lumped someone into two seperate catagories.  I am a person, not a gun owner, and not a Republican, those are what I do, not who I am.  And you call me closed minded.”

That was the end of that conversation which was fine by me, that dumb skank doesn’t know her ass from a whole in the ground.  Anyway, it got me thinking, the closed mindedness isn’t restricted just to her, its all liberals.  Think about, feminists hate all men, whether they have exibited the qualities they hate or not, they are absolutely unwilling to be reasonable and listen to any side other than thier own.  That’s really the thing with libs, they don’t want to hear anything but thier own side, and why is that?  Because when conpared to the truth, their stupid position sounds really dumb.  Now don’t get me wrong, they want some good things, they want to help the environment, they want to help poor people, but they do it the wrong way.  They do it by de-humanizing people who aren’t the ones they want to help.  Take for instance smokers.  The libs want to take away their right to smoke outside because, “I have the right to breathe clean air.”  Not only is it rediculous to think that one cannot find fresh air OUTSIDE when there is a smoker about, but to think that your rights to clean air are any more or less important than the smoker’s right to smoke.  We also get the argument, “Well smoking just isn’t good for you, and since you won’t quit on your own accord, I will make you by trying to outlaw it.”  Where is the open mind?  How about you mind your own buisness and leave me the hell alone!  I am an adult, if I want to smoke that is my buisness, I never gave you permission to control my actions, respect my autononmy. 

Any way, sorry, I got a little carried away there.  So yeah, I just think it is rather intersting that the great openmined liberals, aren’t so open minded after all.
