Hello...
Welcome to Backwoodsman. I have some new posts for y'all to check out:

Give me a break…
No, not of that Kit Kat Bar, no I want a break from constantly being bombarded by stupidity.
I’m sure many of you are not aware (because I wouldn’t have found it and I have some of the most busy-body/news junkie friends out there) that there was a debate between Woopi Goldberg and Elizabeth Hasselbeck Read more…
Santelli a plant???
So as I’m sure many of you know, word is spreading around the inter-webs that Santelli was a plant to trigger a vast right-winged conpiracy for an anti-Obama campaigne. You can find the story I read at : meganmcardle.theatlantic.com.
Before I get to the main point of this post I just want to point out an observation I made, doesn’t this sound a lot like Hillary’s “Vast Right Winged Conspiracy” nonsense?
Alright, now for the main point, So what? So what if it is an Astroturf movement or whatever? The point is, people are standing up and being heard. So it stated out funded by who ever, what’s important is that it started. I am going to a Tea Party in Rapid City on April 15, and it was started by one of my state Representatives. That’s good enough for me. I guess what I am saying is, who cares who started it, it’s ours now, the grass roots took it over, and it is ours now. This movement belongs to the people now, that’s where it should have started but even if it didn’t, that’s where it is now. Don’t let this “New Information” (If it is even true, remember, it is speculation by ex-commies) change your position, Obama’s tax plan is still bad, bailouts are still wrong, stimulus packages are still wrong. The message still holds true. Let me put it this way, I read the article, and I will be in Rapid on April 15th.
New Criteria for Legislation…
Apparently there is a new criterion for good governance in Washington now-a-days. It seems principle is no longer in charge, its place at the table has been usurped and replaced by non other than public opinion.
Barry and the rest of the dems are more concerned with what people think than what the Constitution says. Take a look at Another Nail in the Free Market’s Coffin and you will see what I mean.
The Obamastration has been trying vehemently to make people (I use the term people loosely because we are talking about democrats) not mad. You see, the dems have been getting all bent out of shape about executives getting huge bonuses. Now, I can understand that are mad about executives getting bonuses from bailout money, hell I am mad about it. The problem however, is not with the company, nor is it with the executives. No, the problem is that the Obamastration in its infinite stupidity keeps giving them money. Now, to make it all better, they are saying, “Oh we will punish those nasty executives, they won’t get away with this. And there little dog too.” Perhaps, you morons, you should read what you are passing before voting on it. If congress would have read the bailouts, they would have seen that the language of the bill allowed for this and could have stopped it, OR if the gov. had simply not given the money, we wouldn’t have this.
Now, it’s not quite fair to only blame the fed gov. for this. The states should have spoken up. However, the states, being as greedy as they are, (yes dems, the gov. is greedy too! OMG! I can’t believe it!) were more than happy to take stimulus money. Perhaps some of you governors ought speak up and help your citizens be heard, you do serve us remember? Anyway, the point is, washington is cranking out legislation and regulation for the wrong reasons.
It’s time for the people to take back the government and return Principles to their rightful place, at the head of the table.
Another nail in the Free Market’s Coffin…
Just a bit more from the Disturbium.
I found this article on Drudge that talks about the increase in regulation on corporations by the Feds. The fed gov. (the Obamastation) wants to make corporations report what they pay their executives, apparently so they can have ultimate say in the matter. So much for privacy, it turns out even if you don’t work for the government they get to decide how much you make. Sound familiar comrades? According to the International Herald Tribune,
The new rules will cover all financial institutions, including those not now covered by any pay rules because they are not receiving U.S. government bailout money. Officials say the rules could also be applied more broadly to publicly traded companies, which already report about some executive pay practices to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Last month, as part of the stimulus package…”
This cannot happen, we the people must do something, this is the Communist take over of the market. It doesn’t stop there however,
“A central aspect of the plan, which has already been announced by the administration, would give the government greater authority to take over and resolve problems at large, troubled companies that are not now regulated by Washington, like insurance companies and hedge funds.”
Now, who’s to say what companies are “Troubled”? I think by troubled, they mean, just a bit too successful.
“That proposal would, for instance, make it easier for the government to cancel bonus contracts like those given to executives at the American International Group, which have stoked a political furor. Under the proposal, the Treasury secretary would have the authority to seize and wind down a struggling institution after consulting with the president and upon the recommendation of two-thirds of the Federal Reserve board.”
So not only does the gov. plan to regulate the economy based on public approval, but they want to Tim Giethner the authority to seize and wind down struggling financial institutions. Hasn’t this guy done enough? You wanna know what kind of nut this guy is?
“Long before he became Treasury secretary, Timothy Geithner had sought broader authority for the government to resolve problems at financial institutions that were not under the supervision of bank regulators.”
What’s more, Germany and France, along with other Eurocracies don’t think what Obama is doing is the way to go.
“France and Germany especially have suggested that the better response is not more government spending but tighter regulation.”
They are half right, increased gov. spending is not the way to fix the market. If we have learned anything about the Free Market, it’s that it works best when it is not interfered with. That’s not a difficult concept to understand one would think, I mean for crying out loud, that’s what undergrads are being taught, and the top econ officials for Obama can’t figure it out? Further, Barny Frank, Ben Bernanke, and Chris Dodd are all for this nonsense, that should be reason enough to say no.
I’ve never seen anything like this…
Hey gang,
I have been catching up on blog posts and the news somewhat I have noticed something. When I got to places like, Dakota Voice , and Drudge , I see a lot of news about Tea Parties. Now I was not there for the civil rights movement, nor the anti-war war protests of the 60′s and 70′s, but I was around for the anti-Bush protests and the protests against the war in Iraq, and I have to say, none of the protests and rallies of the 90′s hold a candle to the Tea Parties quickly sweeping the nation. I have to agree with my close friend Fastidious, when she says that she wishes she would have seen this in November. Even so, I am really excited about Conservatives having enough and rising up. It’s about time. Keep on fighting folks, the more people we rally, the harder it will be for the drive-bys and the government to ignore us. I know I will be attending the Tea Party in Rapid City on April 15 and I encourage any and all SD Conservative to attend either the one in Rapid or the one in Sioux Falls.
Hey gang…
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, its been a busy week. I let myself fall a little behind and it came back to bite me in the ass on Friday. Anyway, I am stoked for the weekend, I am going shooting, and I think I am gonna ask out this girl I keep seeing in the gym. We’ll see how this goes, well, keep your stick on the ice, and remember, I’m pullin’ for ya, we’re all in this together.
Hold on just a minute…
I just want to take a second and say that I am rocking Iron Maiden in the Library, and I seem to be the only one appreciating it. I have noticed that the ResLife D-bags are definately not happy about it but I am about to head to class so I don’t really care that much.
Higher Education???
What kind of joke has the University become? A bad one that’s what. At the point where a college would sacrifice quality of education for student retention, I say it needs to be shut down. Read more…
Ah the good old UN…
So, apparently funding barbaric dictators, complaining about the US, and not doing ANYTHING just isn’t enough for these fools. The UN has stepped up it’s operations, now they are raping children.
You know, I already thought the UN was a waste of time and money, but now, how can anybody need anymore, convincing that we should get out?? Child-Raping? Are you serious?

A Little Gun History…
I got this E-Mail from my dad, not sure where he got it, not that it really matters, the content is the important part:
